About Us
Hi, I’m Bjorn — the founder of JPNStudio.
What began as a personal fascination with Japanese art has grown into one of the largest online platforms dedicated to its beauty and legacy. Over the past two years, we’ve built a global community of over 750,000 people who share the same love for this timeless art form.
Picture of the research setup 🤓
Behind every post, every caption, and every product we share is a deep commitment to research. I spend countless hours reading rare books, diving into academic papers, and searching the internet for hidden pieces of information — all to uncover the rich stories behind the artists and prints we feature. This research is essential. It’s what fuels the educational content we publish across our social media channels and informs every print we decide to bring to life in our store.
JPN Studio was born out of a desire to breathe new life into the forgotten masterpieces of Japan’s woodblock printing tradition. So many works by great masters like Kawase Hasui, Hiroshi Yoshida, and Shiro Kasamatsu have been left in obscurity — tucked away in archives or museum databases. We wanted to change that. That’s why we create high-quality digital reproductions of both iconic and overlooked prints, so they can be seen, appreciated, and displayed once again.
But we don’t stop at the past. We also collaborate with emerging artists who are inspired by the themes, techniques, and spirit of Japanese art. Together, we’re building a bridge between old and new — honoring tradition while encouraging modern expression.
Every piece we offer is carefully selected and produced with intention. From our handmade solid wood frames to our museum-quality art prints, we’re here to help you bring a sense of calm, beauty, and timeless culture into your space.
Thank you for being part of this journey. 🎏
